  • Yarn: red (A), orange (B), green (C), pink (D), white (E)
  • Black embroidery floss

  • Crochet hook, US size 1
  • Embroidery needle

Abbreviations

ch: chain
dc: double crochet
hdc: half double crochet
rep: repeat
sc: single crochet
sk: skip
ss: slip stitch
st(s): stitch(es)

  • Orange & Lime
  • 1. Using B or C, ch 5, ss to create circle. Ch 2 dc 18 times into circle, ss to connect. Sc around circle once. Sc twice into same st. Sc 5. Rep to 3-1/2" diameter. Cut B or C; tie E to end. Using E, sc around edge once. Using B or C, sc around edge. Tie off. Insert hook into hole in center of circle; loop E forward through circle, about 1/4", wrap yarn around hook under circle; pull through for ss. Rep ss in line reaching edge of circle. Create five more ss lines, evenly spaced, around coaster. Tie off.
  • Apple
  • 1. Using E, rep Orange & Lime directions to sc around circle once. Using A, sc twice into same st. Sc 5. Rep to 3-1/2" diameter. For leaf, using C, ch 10, sk 1 st, sc 3, dc 3, sc 3; turn leaf over, sc 3, dc 3, sc 3, tie off. Hand-sew leaf to apple and two seed lines on center using black floss.
  • Watermelon
  • 1. Using D, rep Orange & Lime directions to sc around edge once using E. Using C, sc around twice. Tie off. Hand-sew six seed lines on center using black floss.
  • Strawberry
  • 1. Using D, rep Orange & Lime directions to 3-1/2" diameter. Hdc, dc 5, hdc, sc 7, hdc 6, sc 8, hdc 2, dc 2, dc 3 into next st, dc 2, hdc 2 sc 7, ss, tie off. Using C (leaves), ch 10, sk 1 sc 9; turn. Ch 2, dc 2, ss, ch 2, dc 2, ss, ch 2, dc, ss. Tie off. Hand-sew leaves to top and French knots (seeds) using black floss.
