Materials

  • TLC Essentials: Linen (CA), 2 skeins; Winter White (CB), 1 skein

Tools

  • Afghan hook, J-10
  • Crochet hook, I-9
  • Yarn needle

  • Gauge
  • 1. 13-1/2 sts = 4". (Note: Check your gauge. Use any size needles/hook to obtain provided gauge.)
  • Tunisian Panel
  • 1. Ch 41. Work until piece measures 35-1/2".
  • Bottom
  • 1. With CA and I hook, ch 15.
  • 2. Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, ch 1, turn - 14 sc.
  • 3. Row 2: Sc in sc across. Rep Row 2 until piece measures 13" from beg. Fasten off.
  • Handles (make 2)
  • 1. With CA and I hook, ch 5.
  • 2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across - 4 sc.
  • 3. Row 2: Sc in each sc across. Rep Row 2 until piece measures 16".
  • 4. Fasten off.
  • 5. With CA and I hook, rev sc along both long sides of handle leaving a 12" tail on both ends for sewing handle onto tote.
  • Finishing
  • 1. Sew short sides of Afghan Panel together. Sew bottom to one open end of Afghan Panel. With CA, I hook and right side facing, rev sc around top of tote.
  • 2. Following chart, use CB to cross-stitch snowflake design on both sides of tote.

  • 3. Sew handles to sides of tote. Weave in ends. (Note: Cut a piece of foam core or heavy cardboard the same size as bottom of tote and place inside, if desired.)
