  • 1. Rnds 1-6 for Motif + 5-1/2" square.

  • 1. Afghan is worked in ten strips of nine motifs each. Rnds 1-3: Color A. Rnds 4-6: Color B.
  • First Motif
  • 1. (Make 90) With CA, ch 6; join with a sl st to form a ring.
  • 2. Rnd 1: Ch 1, 12 sc in ring; join with a sl st to first sc.
  • 3. Rnd 2: [Ch 3, sl st in next sc] 11 times, ch 3, sl st in joining sl st to last rnd.
  • 4. Rnd 3: Sl st to ch-3 sp, ch 4, holding back last lp on hook, work 2 tr in same sp, yo and through all 3 lps on hook, ch 3; * holding back last lp on hook, 3 tr in next sp, yo and through all 4 lps on hook - cluster made, ch 3; rep from * around; join to top of ch-4. Fasten off.
  • 5. Rnd 4: Attach CB in any ch-3 sp, ch 1, 3 sc in same sp, * ch 2, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next sp, ch 2, 3 sc in next sp, ch 2 **, 3 sc in next sp; rep from * around, end at **; join to first sc.
  • 6. Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in same sc as joining, sc in next 2 sc, * 2 sc in next sp, sc in next 2 dc, (sc, ch 2, sc) all in next sp, sc in next 2 dc **, [2 sc in next sp, sc in next 3 sc] twice; rep from * around, end at **; 2 sc in next sp, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in last sp; join to first sc.
  • 7. Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in same sp, * [ch 1, skip next sc, sc in next sc] 4 times, ch 2, skip next 2 sc, [sc in next sc, ch 1, skip next sc] 4 times; rep from * around; joint to first sc. Fasten off.
  • Second Motif
  • 1. Work Rnds 1-5 in same way as First Motif. Begin Rnd 6 as for First Motif and work one side to corner; sc in corner, ch 1, sc in corresponding corner ch-2 sp of First Motif, ch 1, sc in same corner sp on Second Motif, *[sc in ch-1 sp of First motif, skip next st on Second Motif, sc in next st on Second Motif] 4 times**, sc in ch-2 sp on First Motif, skip next 2 sts on Second Motif, sc in next st on Second Motif; rep from * to ** once more, ch 1, sc in corresponding corner ch-2 sp of First Motif, ch 1, sc in same corner sp on Second motif, complete as for Rnd 6 on first motif.
  • 2. Continue to make motifs, alternating colors as desired. (Rnds 1-3 in Color A; Rnds 4-6 in Color B).
  • 3. Join 7 more motifs in this manner in a strip - 9 motifs joined. Work first motif of next strip and join to first motif of last strip on one side. Continue in this manner until there are 10 strips of 9 motifs.
  • Border
  • 1. Rnd 1: Attach White in and corner sp, ch 1, 3 sc in same corner sp, sc evently spaced around working 3 sc in each corner.
  • 2. Rnd 2: Attach Cream and sc in each sc around. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
