  • Moda Dea Washable Wool, 1 skein each: Coffee (CA); Ivory (CB) (Coats & Clark)
  • Assorted glass beads, 70

  • Knitting needles, size 8

  • 1. 19 sts = 4"; 26 rows = 4"
  • Belt
  • 1. With CA, cast on 15 sts.
  • 2. Rows 1-4: Knit
  • 3. Row 6: K2, P11, K2.
  • 4. Row 7 (RS): Knit.
  • 5. Rep last 2 rows until piece measures approx. 48-1/2", end with RS row. K last 4 rows. Bind off.
  • 6. With CB, use Fig. 1 and photo to embroider scarf.

  • Fringe
  • 1. Holding one strand cut eighteen 12" strands. Knot nine fringes across each end of scarf as follows: fold strand in half forming a loop. Insert crochet hook through fabric from wrong side and draw loop through, then draw yarn ends through loop and tighten. Rep across each end of scarf. Thread beads onto fringe ends; knot ends.
