  • Circular knitting needle sizes: 11 (beret); 13 (scarf)
  • Yarn needle
  • Stitch marker

  • Gauge
  • 1. 11 sts = 4"; 15 rows = 4"
  • Note
  • 1. Make sure stitches dropped at the end are the ones that were made on the first row.
  • Scarf
  • 1. With larger needle, cast on 12 sts.
  • 2. Row 1: K3, * yo, k3; rep from * across - 15 sts.
  • 3. Row 2: K - 15 sts.
  • 4. Rep Row 2 until 80" or to desired length.
  • 5. Next Row: K3, * drop next st from left needle, K3; rep from * across - 12 sts. Bind off.
  • 6. Gently pull each dropped stitch all the way back to Row 1. Weave in ends.
  • Hat
  • 1. Cast on loosely 77 sts using circular needles. Join being careful not to twist your cast on. Place marker at beg of row.
  • 2. Row 1: Knit.
  • 3. Row 2 (RS): Purl.
  • 4. Rows 3-6: Rep last 2 rows.
  • 5. Row 7: [K9, K2tog] 7 times - 70 sts.
  • 6. Row 8: [P8, P2tog] 7 times - 63 sts.
  • 7. Row 9: [K7, K2tog] 7 times - 56 sts.
  • 8. Row 10: P.
  • 9. Row 11: K1, K2tog, K1, bind off next 4 sts, [K2tog, K1, bind off next 4 sts] 6 times - 21 sts.
  • 10. Row 12: [P3, yo] 7 times - 28 sts.
  • 11. Row 13: K.
  • 12. Row 14: P.
  • 13. Rep last 2 rows 15 more times.
  • Hat Shaping
  • 1. Row 1: [K3, drop next st from left needle] 7 times - 21 sts.
  • 2. Row 2: P.
  • 3. Row 3: K.
  • 4. Row 4: [K1, K2tog] 7 times - 14 sts.
  • 5. Row 5: P.
  • 6. Cut yarn with a 6" tail. Thread needle with tail and thread through remaining stitches. Gently pull each dropped stitch all the way back to Row 12. Weave in ends.
