  • Wire cutters
  • Round-nose pliers
  • Tapestry needle
  • Glue gun and sticks

Basic Supplies

  • scissors, ruler
  • 1. For hat, French knit with red yarn for 9"; bind off. French knit with white yarn and eyelash yarn held together for 5"; bind off. Weave ends into knitted tubes with tapestry needle.
  • 2. For stocking, French knit with green yarn for 12"; bind off. French knit with white yarn and eyelash yarn held together for 3-1/2"; bind off. Weave ends into tubes.
  • 3. For mitten, French knit with yellow yarn for 12"; bind off. French knit with white yarn and eyelash yarn held together for 4"; bind off. Weave ends into tubes.
  • 4. Thread matching wires through colored knit tubes. Leave excess wire sticking out on each end of tube. Shape red wire into hat, green wire into stocking, and yellow wire into mitten as shown. Make loop in wire next to end of knit tube using round-nose pliers. Trim excess wire. Repeat for remaining wire ends.
  • 5. Adjust wire shape so that ends of shape fit 1/2" inside white bands. Apply glue to ends of shape at wire loops; adhere end of shaped tube to white band, pushing wire into band. Let set.
  • 6. Adhere white pom-pom to end of hat.
  • 7. Attach clear thread to top of shapes to hang. Knot ends together.
  • Tip
  • 1. After stitching the white bands on the ornaments, rub the surface with your fingertip to bring the eyelash yarn out of the knitting for a fluffy, full look.
