Pattern - One-Off Sampler

  • 1. Cross-stitch design centered on fabric over three threads using two strands of floss as indicated on chart. Work letters first, stitching from center outward using 318 Steel Grey-LT. (Note: Letter spacing will vary, but follow chart and start letters where indicated to keep design aligned in spite of one-off stitching technique.)
  • 2. After letters are stitched, transfer tendril markings to fabric using water-soluble pen. Reverse pattern as necessary. Mark small tendrils freehand using pattern as guide.
  • 3. Embroider stems and tendrils using stem stitch and 3347 Teal Green-DK, leaves using detached chain stitch and 3348 Teal Green-MD, and flowers using lazy daisy stitch and 3821 Straw. Complete French knots at center of each flower using 970 Pumpkin-LT. Knot and clip thread ends.
  • 4. Mat and frame as desired.
