Pattern - Embroidered Flower Pillows

  • General
  • 1. Print and cut out patterns.
  • Pink Pillow
  • 1. Cut two 12-1/2" pink fabric squares. Transfer pattern to front of one square. Use two strands floss to stem stitch design.
  • 2. Cut 12-1/2" batting square. Baste batting square to back of embroidered square (batting will give front of finished pillow a smooth look after form and stuffing are added.)
  • 3. Sew pillow front to back, 1/4" from edges with right sides facing, leaving 10" opening on one side for turning. Trim corners; turn right side out. Insert pillow form in opening. Add stuffing to corners and around sides if needed. Hand sew opening closed.
  • Brown Pillow
  • 1. Cut two 8-1/2" brown fabric squares. Transfer single flower to front of one square. Use two strands floss to stem stitch design and make French knots in flower center, wrapping floss around needle one time for each knot.
  • 2. Cut 8-1/2" batting square. Baste batting square to back of embroidered square (Note: Batting will give front of finished pillow a smooth look after form and stuffing are added.)
  • 3. Sew pillow front to back, 1/4" from edges with right sides facing, leaving 5" opening on one side for turning. Trim corners; turn right side out. Stuff pillow. Hand sew opening closed.
