- 1. Prime mat board with gesso. Apply thin coat of paint in light color. Scrunch up plastic wrap and dab into contrasting color; schmoosh (this is a technical term) plastic wrap onto mat board. Add additional colors and textures with texture tools and rubber stamps. Apply paint to stamps with sponge brushes for more texture. Add torn collage paper bits; use music, dictionary words, etc.
- 2. Paint over collage papers to blend into background without covering completely. Use daubers, stipple brushes, and ink pads to antique paper edges and mat board. Finish piece with layer of translucent embossing powder; heat set. Use board as base for project or cut into smaller embellishment-sized pieces for cards. Finish edges with metallic paint pens; layer onto projects with foam tape for dimension.
