Materials

  • Compact discs, three
  • Yuletide patterned papers (Tinkering Ink)
  • Sugar-Coated card stock (Doodlebug Designs)
  • Vintage lace
  • Ribbon (Offray)
  • Chipboard Alphabet (Cloud 9 Designs)

Tools

  • Fluid Chalk Ink Pad (Clearsnap): Chestnut Roan
  • Silver Embossing Powder (Ranger)
  • Embossing Ink Pad (Ranger)
  • Pinking shears
  • Crop-O-Dile (Around the Block)
  • Sizzix Die Cutting Machine (Ellison)
  • Coluzzle Circle Cutter (Provo Craft)
  • Heat gun
  • 1. Place compact disc on circle cutter to find size that is approximately 1/2" larger. Cut three circles from white paper and adhere to front of discs.
  • 2. Use circle cutter to cut three circles from patterned paper to same size as discs. Adhere to front of discs. Use pinking shears to cut around white edge and ink edges.
  • 3. Use Crop-O-Dile to punch holes in top and bottom of two discs and just the top of the remaining disc.
  • 4. String ribbon through holes to string discs together. For hanger, thread vintage lace through top two holes; knot ends.
  • 5. Apply embossing ink to large "J", "O", "Y"; sprinkle with embossing powder and heat set ink. Repeat as needed for complete coverage.
  • 6. Use Crop-ODile to punch holes along right side of "J". Thread vintage lace through holes. Adhere "J" to top circle and "O" to center circle.
  • 7. For "Y", run vintage lace along left side and adhere letter to bottom circle.
  • 8. Die cut stars from Sugar-Coated card stock, ink, and adhere to "J".
