  • Papier-mâché boxes: round; square
  • Patterned papers
  • Velvet ribbons

  • Martha Stewart Crafts Fine Glitter (EK Success): Onyx; Fire Opal; Peridot

  • Black craft wire, 20-gauge
  • Model Magic air-dry modeling compound (Crayola): White


  • Alphabet stamps
  • Black ink pad
  • Mod Podge Matte (Plaid)
  • Sponge brushes
  • Sanding block
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Wire cutters
  • 1. Follow Mod Podge manufacturer's instructions to decoupage papers onto boxes. Sand edges.
  • 2. (Note: Use photo as guide to sculpt clay shapes.) or pumpkin, roll small clay ball in hands. For lines, use wire to press into surface starting at top and rolling down to bottom. Pinch off tiny piece of clay to sculpt stem and vine. For crow, shape clay into bird as shown. For bat bodies, roll a piece of clay into a snake. Pinch the ears up from one end. Let clay items dry for 24 hours.
  • 3. Hot glue velvet ribbon, vintage labels and paper fringe to boxes as desired.
  • 4. Apply one coat of Mod Podge to each clay item and sprinkle with glitter. Let dry completely.
  • 5. For pumpkin, hot glue stem to pumpkin. Glue fringe to lid and pumpkin to center of fringe. Stamp "Happy Halloween" on flag and insert pick into hole. Add some paper grass around base of flag pick. Hot glue black crow to top of flag pick.
  • 6. For bats, place bat bodies onto top of paper and freehand wings on paper; cut out. Use glue stick to apply adhesive to wing edges; spinkle with glitter. Hot glue bag bodies to wings. Cut 5" wire length of each bat. Insert wire end into body bases. Tap two holes into base of box and place bats into holes. Adhere paper fringe to base of bats.
