  • Mirror to fit frame opening
  • Cardstock: kraft, brown, yellow, orange, assorted greens, metallic copper
  • Recycled paperback novel

  • Chalk ink pads: white, brown, green, orange
  • Adhesives: Beacon Adhesives 3-in-1 Advanced Craft Glue, Fast Finish Decoupage; clear packing tape

Basic Supplies

  • paper trimmer, scissors, ruler, pencil, paintbrushes, wax paper (to cover work surface)
  • 1. Tear several pages from novel into smaller, irregular pieces. Using old brush, apply Fast Finish Decoupage to entire frame, including edges, and to back of each paper piece before applying to frame. Cover entire frame with paper. Let dry.
  • 2. Using paintbrush, lightly apply gesso over entire frame; let dry. Tape mirror behind opening.
  • 3. Die cut/emboss/stencil 10 Rose Creations flowers, five yellow and five orange, using die templates #1, #2, and #3 for each flower. To stencil, apply brown and orange inks through die opening before removing template. Sponge flower edges brown using stylus tool.
  • 4. Stack each set of petals into layered flower. Gently curve petals upward using pencil. Apply glue to brad heads, cover with Flower Soft, and let dry. Fasten each flower with brad.
  • 5. Die cut/emboss/stencil 10 Fall Foliage brown pinecones; stencil with white ink.
  • 6. Die cut/emboss/stencil 50 Fall Foliage leaves in different sizes, shapes, and colors; stencil with brown and green inks.
  • 7. Using photo as guide, adhere leaves to frame in wreath shape. Adhere pinecones and flowers. Adhere alphabet letters to frame as shown.
  • 8. Tie ribbon bow; tie button to bow using twine. Adhere bow to wreath.
  • Tip
  • 1. In the UK, "deco-patch" is another name for découpage. Old novels are a great source for deco-patch paper.
