  • Hanukkah Activity Jar


  • Recycled glass jar with lid
  • Wooden shapes: teardrops, tag, number eight
  • Craft sticks, two
  • DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paints: Sapphire Blue, Snow White, Primary Yellow, Lamp Black; Glamour Dust
  • Glue Dots International: Craft Glue Dots®
  • Blue paper
  • Small candy bars
  • Blue ribbon, 12” length


  • Aleene’s Original Tacky Glue
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Paintbrush
  • Black marker
  • Newspaper (to cover work surface)
  • 1. On covered work surface, paint jar lid and one craft stick Sapphire Blue, other craft stick and wooden tag Snow White, teardrops (flames) Primary Yellow, and wooden number eight Lamp Black. Let dry.
  • 2. Use black marker to outline shapes and write "nights" on wooden tag and "ideas to celebrate" on craft stick and flame. See photo.

  • 3. Use sponge scrap to apply glamour dust on lid. Let dry.
  • 4. Cut craft sticks in half creating candles. Glue candles and flames on side of jar. Let dry. Glue number eight on wooden tag. Let dry.
  • 5. Measure and cut blue paper into 7/8"x3" strips. Use black marker to write activity like "make latkes" or "visit grandma" on blue paper strips. Wrap candy bars with strips; secure edges with glue dot.
  • 6. Measure and cut 12" blue ribbon length. Insert ribbon ends through hole on tag; wrap ribbon around jar. Fill jar with wrapped candy bars.
