Materials

  • Mason jar with lid, 5-1/4”
  • Green cardstock
  • Green crinkled paper grass
  • Wooden eggs, 1”, three
  • Orange ribbon, 3/8”-wide
  • Small silk flowers, two

Tools

  • DecoArt Americana Acrylics: Bubblegum Pink, Lavender, Lamp Black, Sea Breeze, Tangelo Orange, True Red
  • FM Brush Dynasty Black Gold Paintbrushes
  • Kryon Short Cuts Sun Yellow Spray Paint
  • API’s Crafter’s Pick Fabric Glue

Basic Supplies

  • pencil, scissors, newspapers, rubber gloves

Pattern - Mason Jar Chick

  • 1. Print out full-size pattern.
  • 2. Remove lid and rim from jar. In well-ventilated area, place jar on newspapers and evenly spray it Sun Yellow following manufacturer's instructions. Let dry. Paint eggs Bubblegum Pink, Lavender, and Sea Breeze. Dip paintbrush handle into Lamp Black and dot two eyes 1" from rim. Dry brush cheeks in circular motion with True Red. Lightly trace beak pattern onto chick and paint Tangelo Orange.
  • 3. Trace lid onto green cardstock. Cut out and adhere to lid. Add lid to rim and screw onto jar. Adhere green grass to lid and eggs to top.
  • 4. Wrap ribbon around chick and tie bow. Trim ends. Adhere flowers to knot.
