  • Watercolor paper, 140 lb. weight


  • Penny Black Stamps: Pop, Pop, Poppy; Letter Background
  • Imagine Crafts Memento Ink Pads: Nautical Blue, Northern Pine
  • Tombow Dual Brush Pens: Ultramarine, Turquoise, Avocado, Dark Jade, Light Orange, Crimson
  • Ranger Mini Mister
  • Adhesives: double-sided tape, painter’s tape

Basic Supplies

  • paper trimmer, paintbrush, acrylic block, sponge ink applicator, paper towels, container of water
  • 1. Cut paper to 4-1/4"x5-1/2" panel. Adhere panel to firm board or work surface using painter's tape, masking small border around outer edge of card.

  • 2. Color directly onto Pop, Pop, Poppy stamp using brush pens. Mist stamp with water; press onto panel.

  • 3. Add water directly to stamped image using paintbrush, blending colors. Apply water with pouncing motion to achieve watercolor look.

  • 4. Apply ink from pens onto acrylic block "palette." Paint sky and grass using inks from palette applied with paintbrush and water. Avoid placing water onto flowers or leaves as ink may bleed.

  • 5. Randomly apply ink to Letter Background stamp using pens; remove some ink using paper towels. Press stamp onto panel.

  • 6. Sponge Nautical Blue ink onto upper left corner and Northern Pine ink onto bottom right corner of panel. Let dry.

  • 7. Remove painter's tape. Mount to notecard with double-sided tape or frame as desired.
  • Tip
  • 1. Adhering watercolor paper to a firm surface before beginning prevents major warping and curling when water is applied.
