Materials

  • Wooden or foam letters to spell “PEACE”, 5-1/2” tall
  • Molding, 27” length (or to fit letters)
  • Small ornament or charm
  • Spray paints (Krylon): Make It Crackle! Antique Finish: Spanish Moss (basecoat); Marshmallow (topcoat); Make It Last! Clear Sealer
  • Artificial holly
  • Pom-poms or artificial berries

Tools

  • Tiny dowel or pencil
  • Tiny eyehook
  • Glue gun and glue sticks
  • Old jar
  • 1. Cover work surface. Place molding strip and letters on work surface. Invert ornament/charm on tiny dowel or pencil on top of jar. Spray paint items Spanish Moss. (Note: Foam letters require more paint.) Apply Marshmallow topcoat. (Note: A heavy coat produces large crackles, whereas a light coat produces small crackles.) When dry, turn items over and repeat. When dry, apply Make It Last! to prevent flaking.
  • 2. Screw eyehook at top, inside center of open area of "C"; attach charm.
  • 3. Place letters evenly-spaced on molding strip. Adhere letters to molding strip, using a few Velcro dots per letter. Hot glue holly leaves and berries to molding strip.
