  • Stencils: DecoArt Americana Decor Brocade Motif, Gloss Enamels Bistro; large script letters and square, small circle and stars
  • DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paints: Buttermilk, Camel, Lamp Black, Neutral Grey, Payne’s Grey, Sable Brown, Snow White, Tuscan Red; Chalky Finish, Everlasting, Rouge, Carbon; DuraClear Satin Varnish
  • The Artist’s Club Superfilm Sanding Paper (70071) and sanding block

Basic Supplies

  • transfer paper, pencil, soft cloth, newspaper (to cover work surface)

Pattern - Towering Cups Clock

  • 1. Note: Complete basecoating using glaze/wash and design using appropriate-size filbert.
  • 2. Remove clock face from clock. Basecoat entire clock Carbon; let dry. Paint base, sides, and back Rouge. Paint front Everlasting. When completely dry, lightly sand to reveal black areas.
  • 3. Print out pattern. Transfer cup design to front of clock.
  • 4. (Note: Cups are number from Cup 1 to Cup 5 from bottom to top of stack.) Paint Cup 1 body Buttermilk and base, handle, and rim Lamp Black. Paint Cup 2 body Tuscan Red and handle and rim Lamp Black. Paint Cup 3 body and top edge Snow White and handle Tuscan Red. Paint Cup 4 body Payne's Grey and handle Camel. Paint Cup 5 Tuscan Red and handle Snow White. Let dry.
  • 5. Shade Cup 1 Sable Brown; highlight handle, rim, and base Snow White. Let dry. Use Brocade stencil to stencil design Tuscan Red.
  • 6. Shade Cup 2 Lamp Black; highlight Snow White. Use square stencil to stencil diamond shapes in rows Snow White.
  • 7. Shade Cup 3 body Neutral Grey and rim and handle Lamp Black. Add Snow White highlights. Use Brocade stencil to stencil design, alternating motif, across center of cup Payne's Grey.
  • 8. Shade Cup 4 Lamp Black; highlight Snow White. Drybrush center Snow White. Use square stencil to stencil diamond shapes on center of cup Camel.
  • 9. Shade Cup 5 body Lamp Black and handle Neutral Grey. Dot cup and handle Snow White using stylus.
  • 10. Use Bistro stencil to stencil flourishes and lettering around clock face Neutral Grey. Stencil diamond design using square stencil on edges of clock Lamp Black; add Snow White dots using stylus. Shade outer edge of clock Payne's Grey.
  • 11. When surface is completely dry, sand lightly and wipe with cloth. Apply sealer. Insert clock face.
