  • Cupcake T-shirt Apron

  • White cotton t-shirts, three
  • Pink ribbon, 1-1/2 yds.
  • Tulip: Custom Dye Color Kit, Dye Surface Cover, Premium Dye Gloves
  • Salt

  • Aleene’s Fabric Fusion
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape
  • Plastic bucket or recycled gallon containers
  • Wooden spoons or paint sticks
  • 1. On covered work surface, use scissors to cut across t-shirts below sleeves. Use photo to cut cupcake pieces from one t-shirt square. For confetti, trace 10 2" circles.
  • 2. Follow manufacturer's instructions to mix following colors for apron: Petal - bright pink (cherry and confetti), Moonstruck - periwinkle (cupcake liner stripes and confetti), Chickadee - yellow (cupcake frosting and confetti), Honeysuckle - light peach (confetti), Pink Plunge - light pink (apron base), Guava - dark peach (cupcake liner). Mix each color in plastic bucket or recycled gallon container. Use wooden spoon or paint stick to stir mixture until dissolved.
  • 3. In plastic gallon containers, soak cupcake pattern pieces in dye mixtures. Soak remaining large t-shirt square (apron base) in Pink Plunge. Let set 45 minutes.
  • 4. Machine wash pieces separately. Let dry.
  • 5. For apron casing, cut small slits, 1/2" from top edge and 1" apart. Thread ribbon length in and out of slits; knot ends together.
  • 6. Use photo as guide to glue cupcake pieces and confetti on apron. Tie periwinkle ribbon bow; glue on side of cupcake.
