  • Vine
  • 1. Double-load 3/4" flat with Burnt Umber and Wicker White. On chisel edge, leading with Wicker White, paint main vine, then cross over additional vines.
  • Leaves
  • 1. Double-load 3/4" flat with Thicket, Sunflower, and a touch of Yellow Lt. on Sunflower side. Occasionally, you may pick up a touch of Burnt Umber on Thicket side for a more muted tone of green. With Thicket to outer edge, paint wiggle leaves.
  • 2. To paint small one-stroke leaves, double-load #12 flat with Thicket and Sunflower, occasionally picking up a touch of Yellow Lt. or Burnt Umber for a different tone of leaf color.
  • Flowers
  • 1. On large pot, there are five-petal flowers in clusters forming hydrangeas. Load #12 flat with Wicker White; paint five teardrop-shape petals to form flower. Make sure to overlap some petals to create clusters. By pulling some petals toward main cluster, you can create trailing flowers.
  • 2. Dip end of script liner into Sunflower, alternating with Yellow Lt. Dot flower centers.
  • Medium Pot
  • 1. Load #12 flat with Wicker White and touch of Yellow Lt. Keep yellow to a minimum, using just enough to create a soft center. With Wicker White to outer edge, paint four wiggle petals to form flower. Note: There is more of a wiggle petal form to flowers.
  • 2. Dip end of script liner brush handle into Yellow Lt., alternating with Thicket. Using brush side of script liner, pull stamens.
  • Smaller Pot
  • 1. Load #8 filbert with Wicker White and pull small daisies. On chisel edge, touch, lean toward center, and pull strokes to form daisy.
  • 2. Dip end of script liner handle into Yellow Lt. and dot center.
  • Curlie-Cues
  • 1. Load script liner into inky Thicket. Note: To paint curlie-cues, stay on tip of brush, keeping brush in a vertical position. Make sure that your entire arm is moving when painting.
  • Butterflies
  • 1. Double-load #8 filbert with Wicker White and Violet Pansy. With Wicker White to outer edge, push and pull strokes to form wings.
  • 2. Load script liner with inky Thicket; paint body and antennae. Let dry.
  • Finishing
  • 1. Apply 2-3 coats of sealer.
