size: 4-1/4"x4-1/4"

  • Sea Glass Coasters

  • Diamond Tech, 1 pkg. each: Tumbled Glass, Jennifer’s Mosaics 1/4” Gems
  • White felt, 4”x4”, two

  • Diamond Tech Jennifer’s Mosaics: Mosaic Stone Cement, 2 lb. container; Square Coaster Molds, 4-1/4”
  • Petroleum jelly
  • Heavy-duty craft glue

Basic Supplies

  • newspaper (to cover work surface), mixing bowl and spoon, plastic knife, penny or craft knife
  • 1. Cover work area with newspaper. Use finger to apply thin layer of petroleum jelly inside each coaster mold. (Note: This helps when removing mold from coaster.)
  • 2. On newspaper, draw around perimeter of molds, creating coaster patterns. Arrange tumbled glass and glass gems on patterns, keeping glass at least 1/8" from edges.
  • 3. When satisfied with designs, follow manufacturer's instructions to mix indoor cement in mixing bowl.
  • 4. Pour cement into coaster molds until almost full. Shake molds gently to dispense cement. Use plastic knife to smooth surface.
  • 5. Transfer tumbled glass and gems from patterns into coordinating position on coasters, pressing into cement to secure. Let dry for one hour; gently release from molds.
  • 6. Carefully scrape off excess cement on gems and glass using edge of penny or craft knife.
  • 7. Trace coasters on felt; cut out shapes just inside traced lines. Adhere felt onto bottom of coasters using glue. Let dry.
  • 8. Let coasters cure for 48 hours before using.
  • Tip
  • 1. Embed seashells and other memorabilia from your family vacation into cement for a great souvenir.
