Materials

  • Clay items: flowerpot, 8” tall; saucer, 8-1/2”
  • Wooden ball knobs, four
  • Americana Acrylic Paints (DecoArt): Buttermilk; Soft Lilac; Country Blue; Wisteria; Violet Haze; Summer Lilac; Pansy Lavender; Boysenberry Pink; Alizarin Crimson; Moon Yellow; Marigold; Hauser Lt. Green; Plantation Pine; Black

Tools

  • Ashley’s Tea Party stencil (#SG183 The Stencilled Garden)
  • Varnish
  • Paintbrushes: stencil; foam; wash, 1-1/2”
  • Embossing tool
  • Stencil adhesive
  • 1. Basecoat flowerpot and ball knobs Buttermilk, and rim and saucer Country Blue.
  • 2. Stencil teapots as desired, alternating colors. Stencil: flowers Moon Yellow; flower centers Marigold; leaves Plantation Pine, highlight Hauser Lt. Green.
  • 3. Use embossing tool to add Country Blue dots to ball knobs and Black dots around flowers; let dry. Glue knobs to saucer bottom.
  • Note
  • 1. To stencil, use stencil adhesive to anchor stencil to surface. Tap brush tip in paint and swirl on paper towel to load evenly, using as little paint as possible. Swirl lightly on stencil, then swirl over cut openings.
