  • Adhesives: liquid glue, glue gun, foam tape, repositionable adhesive spray

Basic Supplies

  • scissors, spray bottle, newspaper (to cover work surface)
  • 1. Cut or tear black cardstock into 5"x5" squares. Adhere foam flower and animal stickers to cardstock in desired patterns. Spray wooden shapes with adhesive; press in place on cardstock.
  • 2. Carefully pour bleach into spray bottle. On covered work surface in well-ventilated area, spray cardstock with bleach. Be careful not to oversaturate. Allow bleach to soak into paper so it does not run or smear. Return excess bleach to container and rinse out spray bottle.
  • 3. Carefully remove stickers and wooden shapes. (Note: Stickers and wooden shapes can be reused. If stickers are no longer sticky, spray with adhesive.) Position cardstock flat to dry.
  • 4. Tear edges of cardstock around images. Embellish images as desired with gold marker, liquid pearls, and gems. Adhere word stickers to panels; outline with black marker.
  • 5. Punch two holes in top of each bleached panel; thread with twine and tie ends together. Position bleached designs on fiber/grass paper; tear fiber/grass paper mats to size, approximately 5"x6" or 6"x5".
  • 6. Adhere bleached designs to mats using foam tape. Thread thin sticks through twine loops; adhere to mats using glue gun.
  • Tip
  • 1. Change up the papers to alter the outcome. Any color cardstock can be bleached. All cardstock bleaches differently; the variation is part of the fun. Any grass or textured handmade paper can be used for background mats, too.
