Basic Supplies

  • paper trimmer, scissors, ruler, non-alcoholic baby wipes, distressing tool, sponge, acetate sheet
  • 1. Cut cardstock to 7-3/4"x5-1/4". Color cardstock with random streaks of orange, red, and yellow watercolor crayons. Smear colors with baby wipe to blend.
  • 2. Stamp woodgrain on cardstock with waterproof ink. Distress edges, then sponge with dye ink. Set background aside.
  • 3. Color cardstock sheet with watercolor crayons as in Step 1. Die cut leaves from sheet.
  • 4. Stamp Flower Garden on leaves with waterproof ink. Using acetate sheet as palette, color marker pools on sheet and apply color to leaves with water brush. Let dry. See Photo 1. Outline leaf edges with brown marker.
  • 5. Condition clay in hands until soft and pliable. Roll clay to 1/8" thickness. Cut house shapes from clay with blades. (Note: Roof is 2"x1-1/2" triangle and house is 1-3/4"x2" rectangle.) Stamp with script; let dry according to manufacturer's instructions. See Photo 2.
  • 6. Paint house with orange and brown watercolors using water brush. Sponge surface with dye ink.
  • 7. Punch heart from leaf paper scrap; color as in Step 4. Adhere heart to house roof.
  • 8. Stamp sentiment on cardstock with waterproof ink. Cut into pieces; color edges with brown marker.
  • 9. Adhere house to center of background. Layer and adhere leaves around house as shown, using foam dots to adhere top layer.
  • 10. Cut two 6" lengths of twine; tie together in double bow. Adhere to house with glue dot.
  • 11. Display board on small easel or decorative plate holder.
