Materials

  • Printed cotton fabric, 1/2 yd.
  • National Nonwovens WoolFelt, 1/4 yd.
  • Fairfield Smooth Fusible Fleece

Tools

  • Sewing machine with matching thread
  • Fusible interfacing

Basic Supplies

  • scissors, rotary cutter and self-healing mat, sewing needle, thimble, straight pins, iron, pressing cloth, and pressing surface
  • 1. Cut two 12"x20" printed fabric panels (body) and four 2-1/2"x10" strips (handles). Cut two 12"x20" fleece panels (body). Cut four 2-1/2"x10" interfacing panels (handles). For pockets, cut 6-1/2"x10", 4-1/2"x10", and 2-1/2"x10" from wool felt.
  • 2. Follow manufacturer's instructions to fuse one interfacing panel to wrong side of one fabric handle; position another fabric handle on top with right sides together. Pin in place; machine-sew around raw edges with 1/4" seam allowance leaving 2" opening along one side. Clip corners and turn right side out. Press well. Topstitch 1/8" from edge. Repeat for second handle.
  • 3. Follow manufacturer's instructions to fuse one fleece panel to wrong side of one fabric body; position another fabric body panel on top with right sides together. Pin in place; machine-sew around raw edges leaving 4" opening along one side. Clip corners and turn right side out. Press well. Topstitch 1/8" from edge.
  • 4. Position felt pockets inside caddy following diagram; pin in place. Topstitch around sides and bottom of each pocket; machine-sew topstitched pocket dividers as noted on diagram.
  • 5. Center handles, 1-1/4" apart, on outer edge inside caddy. Machine-sew along bottom edge of each handle to secure.
