  • 3. With right sides of fabric facing out, sandwich batting rectangle between pieced rug front and canvas rectangle (rug back). Baste layers together, 1/2" from edges.
  • 4. Cut two 4"x40" and two 4"x26" strips from binding fabric. With right sides of strips facing back, sew long strips to long sides of rug back, 7/8" from edge. Turn strips over 1" toward front, and then turn over 1" again. Sew to rug front, close to edge. Sew short strips to short sides of rug in same way, with ends extending 1/2" on both sides, turning in raw edges at ends before stitching.

  • 1. Sew all seams with right sides of fabrics facing, using 1/2" seam allowance, and pressing and pinning as needed.
