Pattern - Cozy Pet Throws

  • Note
  • 1. Throw is machine washable, using gentle cycle. Dimensions are for cat or small to medium dog. For larger dog, make rectangles larger and add more bones.
  • Dog Throw
  • 1. Print and cut out pattern. Cut twelve bones from white felt. Arrange bones evenly spaced around red rectangle, using photo as placement guide. (Note: Bones should be at least 1-1/4" from rectangle edges.) Apply tiny dabs of glue under bones to secure them to fleece.
  • 2. Use one strand pearl cotton to blanket stitch around bones.
  • 3. With right sides facing and using 3/8" seams, sew rectangles together, leaving 5" opening along one side for turning. Trim corners. Turn right side out. Hand sew opening closed.
  • Cat Throw
  • 1. Follow same instructions as dog, cutting twelve fish from lt. blue felt instead of bones. Blanket stitch fish to purple rectangle. Make French knots at eye dots, wrapping pearl cotton around needle three times for each knot.
  • More
  • 1. Projects may be made into pet beds instead of throws. To make beds, follow basic instructions up to Step 3. Before hand sewing opening, cut small pieces from leftover fleece and stuff throw with pieces to desired fullness. Hand sew opening closed.
