Pattern - Autumn Blessings Tea Towel

  • 1. Follow manufacturer's instructions to fuse Wool Felt and ticking stripe fabric to webbing with iron and pressing surface. Print and cut out pattern or die cut leaves, acorns and stems from fused felt as shown. Remove backing from pieces and fuse to towel, using photo as placement guide. Cut 2"x2-1/2" rectangle with 1-1/4"x1-3/4" opening for frame. Use scallop-edge scissors to trim frame edges. Trim ticking stripe fabric to fit inside frame. Set pieces aside.
  • 2. Use three strands of floss to blanket stitch edges of leaves, acorns and stems.
  • 3. Press and cut 3"x7" rectangle from script fabric, forming a 1/2" seam allowance on edges. Pin to bottom of towel, folding edges to back of towel as needed. Machine sew rectangle to towel.
  • 4. Use fabric glue to adhere ribbon to towel as shown. Stamp "autumn blessings" on brown ticking stripe. Heat set ink. Fuse ticking fabric and frame to towel as shown. If desired, machine sew ticking fabric and frame to towel to secure.
