Materials

  • Polyform Sculpey III Oven-Bake Clay: Glow In The Dark, Black, Granny Smith, Just Orange
  • Metal screws, 1-1/4"

Tools

  • Polyform Sculpey: Clay Conditioning Machine, Super Slicer, Acrylic Clay Roller, 5 in 1 Tool Set
  • Large star cookie cutter
  • Circle cutter, 1”

Basic Supplies

  • wire baking rack and oven, awl
  • 1. Run clays through clay conditioning machine separately to 1/8" thickness. Cut out large Glow in the Dark circle. Position circle on Black sheet; smooth out air bubbles with acrylic roller. Trim around circle leaving 1/8" black border. Roll Granny Smith clay into oval shape; press onto layered circle. Roll 1" Black circle; press on center of Granny Smith oval. Add tiny flattened Glow In The Dark highlight. For eyebrows, roll thick Black rope; taper on both ends. Cut layered circle in half; press eyebrow above each eye half and curl ends.

  • 2. For teeth, roll two Glow in the Dark ovals. Position side-by-side; flatten with finger.

  • 3. For mustache, roll two Black logs tapered on one end. Press large ends together, curling tapered ends. Press mustache into place over teeth.

  • 4. For nose, roll large oval from Just Orange; slightly flatten and press over mustache.

  • 5. Flatten piece of Black slightly-larger than screw head, pierce with screw tip, and press behind screw head. Press screw head to back of nose, embedding screw head in clay. Repeat to apply screws on back of each eye.

  • 6. Position clay pieces on wire baking rack so screws can hang freely. Follow manufacturer's instructions to bake pieces in oven; let cool completely.
  • 7. Punch holes for eyes and mouth/nose in pumpkin using awl. Gently screw pieces into holes.
  • 8. For star-shaped eyes, follow instructions under Step 1 to condition and layer clay together using star cookie cutter to cut out basic eye shapes. Repeat to make second eye. Follow instructions under Steps 5-6 to attach screws and bake pieces in oven.
