  • Clay-dedicated rolling pin or acrylic roller
  • Adhesives: wood glue, Ranger Inkssentials Glossy Accents

Basic Supplies

  • craft knife, ruler, paintbrush, wax paper (to cover work surface), soft cloth, large cardboard box
  • 1. On covered work surface, roll clay to 3/16" thickness. Firmly press sun stamp into clay. Using craft knife and center square piece from shrine kit as guide, carefully trim clay. Set aside to dry for 24 hours.
  • 2. While clay dries, follow assembly directions to paint top front piece of shrine and circle borders only (front and back) from third tier black. Paint circle borders only (front) on second tier and back of back piece copper. Let dry completely.
  • 3. Apply heavy coat of crackle paint to all painted pieces; let dry completely for best effect.
  • 4. Using soft cloth, rub black crackled pieces with Autumn Gold metallic finish. Rub copper crackled pieces with Antique Gold metallic finish. Buff as desired. Seal with several light coats of spray sealer; work inside large cardboard box to prevent overspray.
  • 5. Highlight raised areas of clay sun element with both metallic finishes. Do not cover clay completely; allow some black to show through.
  • 6. Follow manufacturer's directions and use wood glue to assemble shrine; let dry.
  • 7. Using Glossy Accents, adhere copper beads to circles on second tier of shrine; let dry. Fill bead holes with small amount Butterscotch paint; let dry.
  • 8. Adhere sticker sentiment to center top of shrine as shown. Outline phrase pieces with brown marker. Apply light coat Glossy Accents over stickers to seal phrase; let dry.
  • Tip
  • 1. Polymer clay may also be used to create the sun element; simply stamp and bake according to manufacturer's directions before finishing and adhering piece inside shrine.
