Photo Charm Necklace

Materials

  • Clear glass tile, 7/8”x7/8”
  • Silver circle, 1/2”
  • Assorted charms/birthstones, five
  • Photo, 1” square
  • Silver chain necklace, 24” length
  • Silver findings: jump rings, 9mm, 7mm oval, 6mm, five; oval connector, 3/8”; glue-on bail

Tools

  • Chain-nose pliers, two pairs
  • Decoupage medium
  • Eclectic Products E-6000 Industrial Strength Adhesive

Basic Supplies

  • pencil, scissors, ruler, paintbrush
  • 1. Trace outline of glass tile onto photo; cut out inside lines. Wash and dry glass tile. Brush decoupage medium onto tile back; firmly press right side of photo onto wet glass, removing any air bubbles. Let dry 15 minutes. Brush coat of decoupage medium over back of photo to seal; let dry. Adhere bail to top back of photo using glue. Let dry overnight.
  • 2. Attach 9mm jump ring to bail; connect to silver circle using oval jump ring. Open connector; insert into circle. Thread chain through connector.
  • 3. Attach charms to circle, connector, and large jump ring using 6mm jump rings.
  • Tip
  • 1. To change out charms more easily, attach them using lobster clasps instead of jump rings.
