  • Canvas shapes of choice
  • Melt Art Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (UTEE)*
  • Butterfly buttons or beads in coordinating colors
  • Adhesive pin backs


  • Melt Art: Melting Pot with Spatula*; Winged Mosaic Texture Tread*; Heat It Ink*: Turquoise, Amethyst, Pink Tourmaline
  • Perfect Pearls Pigment Powder*: Berry Twist, Perfect Copper, Turquoise
  • Tim Holtz Distress Stains and/or Paints*: Dusty Concord, Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough, Picked Raspberry
  • Spray sealer of choice
  • Craft adhesive
  • * Products available from Ranger

Basic Supplies

  • non-stick craft sheet, scissors, craft blade or knife, spray bottle of water, heat tool
  • 1. Shake paints and stains. Spread strips of color side by side on craft sheet, being careful not to overlap. Spritz with water until beads form.

  • 2. Pounce canvas shapes up and down onto beads. Lift and turn shapes while pouncing until pleased with color pattern. Dry with heat tool; set aside.

  • 3. Place melting pot onto craft sheet; fill with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (UTEE). Set dial to UTEE; let melt.

  • 4. Place few drops of desired Heat It Ink into melted UTEE. Mix completely using spatula.

  • 5. Pour colored UTEE over chosen section of canvas shape. Working quickly, press texture tread down into UTEE and hold for one minute or until firm.

  • 6. When set up, peel texture tread off canvas. Scrape or cut away excess UTEE while still warm. Scraps can be put back into pot and re-melted. Set piece aside until completely cool.
  • 7. Rub pigment powder over raised areas to highlight. Spray with light coats of sealer.
  • 8. Embellish with beads or buttons. Adhere pin back to back.
  • Tips
  • 1. Leftover UTEE can be scraped off craft sheet and put back into pot for re-melting or poured and scraped onto craft sheet, peeled off when hardened, and stored in bag for future use.
  • 2. Repeat Steps 3 through 6 to add additional colors of UTEE to same canvas shape.
