Tools

  • Pliers: round-nose; chain-nose
  • Wire cutters
  • Anti-fray solution
  • Choker
  • 1. Cut one 18" (short) and one 42" (long) wire length. String heart ring onto center of long wire; fold wire in half around ring point (Fig. 1). Bend very end of short wire over ring. Slide a crimp bead up over all four wire ends to rest at ring point; use chain-nose pliers to crimp securely. Thread all three wires through one 6mm bicone.

  • 2. Holding short wire and one long wire together, string five 3mm pearls and one 6mm bicone onto joined wires.
  • 3. String five 3mm pearls onto second long wire. Cross wire end though bicone on joined wires (Fig. 2). Set short wire aside.

  • 4. Continue adding five pearls to each long wire, crossing ends through a 6mm bicone, until you have 17 loops.
  • 5. String one 3mm bicone, four 4mm pearls, and one 3mm bicone onto short wire. Cross wire end though next 6mm bicone. Repeat, alternating loops above and below choker as shown, until you reach last 6mm bicone.
  • 6. Holding short wire and one long wire together again, string five 3mm pearls onto joined wires. String five 3mm pearls onto second long wire. Thread all three wires through one 6mm bicone, same as beginning of choker.
  • 7. Thread wires through remaining crimp bead, bend around remaining heart ring, and thread back through crimp bead and last 6mm bicone; crimp securely. Cut excess wire.
  • 8. Cut ribbon in half; follow manufacturer's instructions to seal ribbon ends with anti-fray solution. Fold one 2' length in half. Pass folded end through center of first heart ring; loop free ends of ribbon back through folded end and pull gently to secure around ring. Repeat at opposite necklace end.
  • 9. To make bracelet using this pattern (see inset photo), which differs slightly from following bracelet, substitute toggle clasp for heart rings. Clasp will add about 1" to length; for 7" length, bead 6" for bracelet.
  • Bracelet
  • 1. String one side of clasp onto center of wire; fold wire in half around clasp. Slide a crimp bead up over both wire ends to rest at clasp; use chain-nose pliers to crimp securely. Thread both ends through one 6mm bicone.
  • 2. String four 4mm pearls and one 6mm bicone onto one wire; set second wire aside. Continue beading first wire in same 4:1 pattern to end; tape wire end to temporarily secure beads.
  • 3. String eight 3mm pearls onto second wire. Cross wire end through next 6mm bicone on first wire. Repeat, alternating loops above and below bracelet as shown, until you reach last 6mm bicone.
  • 4. Remove tape from first wire, thread wires through remaining crimp bead, bend around remaining clasp half, and thread back through crimp bead and last 6mm bicone. Pull wire ends to tighten beads and create wave shape; crimp securely. Cut excess wire.
