Crocheted Knot Bracelet

Materials

  • Patons Silk Bamboo Coal #3 Lightweight Yarn, 2.2 oz.
  • Mexicana crochet thread, size 10
  • Bracelet fastener

Tools

  • Crochet hooks: size E, size 7
  • Large-eye sewing or tapestry needle
  • Sewing needle and thread

  • scissors, ruler, straight pins

  • Outer Bracelet
  • 1. Row 1: With Coal yarn and E hook, ch 5, hdc 2nd ch from hook, hdc ea ch across, ch 1, turn. (4 sts)
  • 2. Rows 2-78: Hdc ea st across, ch 1, turn. End row 78, fasten off.
  • Inner Bracelet
  • 1. Row 1: With Mexicana thread and size 7 hook, ch 5, hdc 2nd ch from hook, hdc ea ch across, ch 1, turn. (4 sts)
  • 2. Rows 2-119: Hdc ea st across, ch-1, turn. End row 119 fasten off.
  • 3. End row 119 fasten off.
  • 4. Position inner bracelet over outer bracelet; hand-sew in place.
  • Tying Knot
  • 1. Find center of bracelet. Fold left side under itself. See Photo 1.

  • 2. Position right side over loop just made on left. See Photo 2.

  • 3. Place remainder of right end under tip of left end. See Photo 3.

  • 4. Take same end of right side of bracelet and thread it over and under center loops to form very loose pretzel shape. See Photo 4.

  • 5. Gradually pull ends to tighten knot, pulling first on one end and then on opposite end to keep bracelet's length same on both sides. Measure with ruler to ensure 7-1/2" length for bracelet. Adjust size of bracelet as needed. See Photo 5.

  • 6. Pin knot sections together to keep in place. With sewing needle and thread, secure knot sections. Hand-sew fastener to each end of bracelet. See Photo 6.

  • 7. Layer black quilting fabric (right side down), batting, and patchwork top (right side up); secure with safety pins. Machine- or hand-quilt stitching around each drawn design area and also 1/4" out from each seam.
  • 8. Attach zipper onto bottom edge of pillow, with one side of zipper to quilted top and other side to black backing panel. Open zipper halfway for ease in turning. With right sides together, machine-sew remaining three sides of pillow. Turn right side out.
  • 9. Open zipper. Insert pillow form and close zipper.
