Beaded Glass Jar Lanterns

Materials

  • FOR EACH:
  • Recycled glass jar
  • Silver glass E beads, 6/0
  • SUMMER SPLASH JAR:
  • Beads*: Summer Splash mix; Copper Triangles
  • Copper decorative head pins*, 2”
  • Red wire, 20-gauge
  • HEART & FLOWERS JAR:
  • Bead mixes*: Heart & Flowers; Metal
  • White round pearl beads, 4mm
  • Silver eye pins, 2”
  • Silver wire, 20-gauge
  • LIGHT BLUE JAR:
  • Beads*: Light Blue mix; Crystal & White seed mix; silver dagger dangles
  • Silver decorative head pins, 2”
  • Silver wire, 20-gauge

  • Round-nose pliers
  • Wire cutters

  • Summer Splash Jar
  • 1. Remove labels from jar if needed. Wash and dry jar.
  • 2. For bead droplet, place two different colored summer splash beads on copper head pin. Bend wire end until it touches top bead, forming loop.
  • 3. Measure around jar mouth, adding 2"; cut. Bend one wire end into loop. String the following: E bead; bead droplet; E bead; triangle bead; E bead; bead droplet. Continue bead pattern until beaded wire is long enough to wrap around jar.
  • 4. Cut wire end 1/2" past last bead. Bend wire end over slightly. Insert wire end through wire loop at beginning. Continue bending wire to form a loop.
  • Heart & Flowers Jar
  • 1. Remove labels from jar if needed. Wash and dry jar.
  • 2. For bead droplet, place metal bead, heart or flower bead, and pearl bead on eye pin. Bend wire end until it touches top bead, forming loop.
  • 3. Measure around jar mouth, adding 2"; cut. Bend one wire end into loop. String the following: E bead; bead droplet; four E beads; bead droplet. Continue bead pattern until beaded wire is long enough to wrap around jar.
  • 4. Repeat Step 4 from previous jar.
  • Light Blue Jar
  • 1. Remove labels from jar if needed. Wash and dry jar.
  • 2. For bead droplet, place blue bead and crystal bead onto head pin. Bend wire end until it touches top bead, forming loop.
  • 3. Measure around jar mouth, adding 2"; cut. Bend one wire end into loop. String the following: E bead; bead droplet; four E beads; dangle; four E beads; bead droplet. Continue bead pattern until beaded wire is long enough to wrap around jar. Bend wire end into tiny loop.
  • 4. Cut wire end 1/2" past last bead. Bend wire end over slightly. Insert wire end through wire loop at beginning. Continue bending wire to form a loop.
