Tiki Charm Necklace

  • Tiki Charm Necklace


  • Polyform Studio by Sculpey Clay: Whipped Cream, Peapod
  • Black string or cording, 18" length


  • Paperclip
  • Toothpick
  • Parchment-lined baking sheet
  • Oven

Basic Supplies

  • toothpick, ruler
  • 1. Adults, help kids when baking clay in oven.
  • 2. On clean work surface, remove clay from packages. To condition, roll clay separately in hands until soft, bending and rolling until pliable. If clay cracks, keep conditioning.
  • 3. For body, roll 2" Peapod ball and slightly flatten. For head, roll 1" Peapod oval and slightly flatten. Insert toothpick in one end of head and other end into body on slight angle. See photo. Press paperclip on back of head; press small amount of clay on back of paperclip (for necklace attachment).
  • 4. For arms and legs, roll four 1" Peapod logs. Flatten one end of each log. Use other toothpick to make toes and fingers. Curve legs and press on end of body. Press arm ends on back of body, curving hands onto stomach.
  • 5. Use toothpick to make belly button and rib lines on body.
  • 6. For nose, roll tiny Peapod oval. Press nose on face. For nostrils, roll two tiny Peapod teardrops. Press nostrils on side of nose. Use toothpick to smooth edges and make mouth and nostril openings.
  • 7. For eyes, roll two tiny Whipped Cream balls. For irises, roll two tiny Peapod balls. Press irises on eyes and eyes on head. Use toothpick to add eye holes and lines on forehead.
  • 8. Follow manufacturer's instructions to bake tiki man on parchment-lined baking sheet in oven. Let cool completely.
  • 9. Measure and cut 18" cording length. Adjust size if needed. Thread cording through hole on paperclip; knot ends together.
