  • Patriotic double-sided print paper
  • Yarn: red, white, blue
  • White brads, 3/8”, five

Tools

  • API Crafter’s Pick Fabric Glue

Basic Supplies

  • pencil, ruler, scissors, paper piercer or large-eye needle
  • 1. Cut 6"x6", 5"x5", and three 4"x4" squares from print papers. Fold 6"x6" diagonally in half, point to point, and crease. Unfold and repeat with opposite points, creating "x" that runs from corner to corner. Poke hole through center using needle. Cut along creased lines from corner to 1" from center. With point of square at top, poke hole in right-hand side of cut corner and fold hole down toward center hole. Secure point to center with brad. Continue for all four corners of square, closing brad on back when complete. Repeat for all squares creating five pinwheels.
  • 2. Wrap white yarn around wreath covering 2-1/2" area. Cut white yarn; tie end to red yarn end. Wrap red yarn around wreath covering 2-1/2" area. Continue until entire wreath is wrapped in yarn, alternating between red and white. Wrap blue yarn five times around center of each red section; tie ends in back.
  • 3. Adhere largest pinwheel at wreath bottom, slightly to one side (or left side of photo). Adhere smaller pinwheels on each side.
  • Tip
  • 1. To use single-sided patterned paper for this project, cut two squares from different papers for each pinwheel square. Adhere squares back-to-back with patterns facing out. Let dry and fold as instructed.
