With tapestry needle (threaded with tail of working yarn cut after knitting portion was finished) in other hand, come through first stitch on front needle purlwise, leaving it on needle. Then come through first stitch on back needle knitwise, also leaving it on needle. These two steps have created a stable start.
  • 2. *Come through first stitch on front needle knitwise, letting it drop off needle. Come through next stitch on front needle purlwise, leaving it on needle. Come through first stitch on back needle purlwise, letting it fall off needle. Come through next stitch on back needle knitwise, leaving it on needle.
