Materials

  • Jelly Yarn, one half-ball: Blue Smoothie or Pink Parfait
  • Hand lotion
  • Darice Self-Stick Foamie: soccer ball or flower
  • Metal brad

Tools

  • Metal knitting needles, size US 6
  • Tapestry needle
  • Measuring tape
  • Scissors
  • Straight pin
  • 1. Follow Steps 1-3 to tie slip knot 18" from end of yarn.

  • 2. Follow Steps 4-6 to cast on 14 stitches. (Leave yarn end for sewing side seam.)

  • 3. Follow Steps 7-9. Row 1: Slip 1st stitch off of left-hand needle to right-hand needle. Knit remaining 13 stitches. Apply small amount hand lotion on needles to help stitches glide.

  • 4. Row 2: Repeat Row 1 for 7-1/2" length or to fit around bottle.
  • 5. Follow Steps 10-12 to bind off. Tie double knot in last loop. Tie tail ends together in knot. Position seam straight; use straight pin to pin opposite end together.

  • 6. To sew side seams together, thread needle with remaining long tail. Sew seams together. Tie knot and trim ends. Remove pin.

  • 7. Insert brad through foam shape and through center of bottle holder. Bend ends on back. Position bottle holder over water bottle.
