Soft, fluffy Sugar n' Cream yarns come together to add some simple comfort to your washroom. Whether you fancy knitting or crocheting, both instructions are included.

Materials

  • Lily Sugar ‘n Cream Medium Weight Yarn, 1 skein each: Ecru (00004), Faded Denim (00181), Light Blue (00026), Denim Blue (00192)

Tools

  • Crochet hook, size H or knitting needles, size 7
  • Tapestry needle

  • Size
  • 1. Size is 10" square.
  • Crochet Washcloth Gauge
  • 1. Approximately 14 dc and 12 rows = 4" in pattern st. Gauge is not critical for this pattern.
  • Crochet Washcloth Note
  • 1. Ch-3 counts as 1 dc throughout. Use Ecru and Faded Denim yarns.
  • Crochet Washcloth
  • 1. Ch 39.
  • 2. Row 1: 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, *sk 1 ch, 2 dc in next ch. Rep from * across until 1 ch remains, dc in last ch. Ch 1, turn. 17 2-dc groups + 2 dc (ch-3 counts as 1 dc throughout).
  • 3. Row 2: Sc in each of 1st 2 dc, *ch 1, sk 1 dc, sc in next dc. Rep from * to end. Ch 1, turn.
  • 4. Row 3: Sc in 1st sc and in 1st ch-1 sp, * ch 1, sk 1 sc, sc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * to end, placing final sc in last sc. Ch 1, turn.
  • 5. Row 4: Rep Row 3; ch 3, turn.
  • 6. Row 5: 2 dc in 1st ch-1 sp, *sk 1 sc, 2 dc in next ch-1 sp. Rep from * across until 1 sc remains, dc in last sc. Ch 1, turn. Rep Rows 2-5 for pattern 6 more times. Ch 1, do not turn after final row; do not end off.
  • Crochet Washcloth Edging
  • 1. Sc evenly around entire washcloth, making sure to place 3 sc in each corner so it lays flat. Join rnd with sl st in 1st sc. End off.
  • 2. Weave in all ends using tapestry needle; block if desired.
  • Knit Washcloth Gauge
  • 1. Approximately 18 sts and 26 rows = 4" in pattern st. Gauge is not critical for this pattern.
  • Knit Washcloth Note
  • 1. Use Light Blue and Denim Blue yarns.
  • Knit Washcloth
  • 1. Cast on 35 sts with long-tail or similar cast-on. K 10 more rows for 5 garter st ridges visible on RS.
  • 2. Row 1 (WS): K 6, p 4, (k 1, p 4) 4 times, k 5.
  • 3. Row 2 and all remaining RS rows: K across.
  • 4. Row 3: K 7, p 3, (k 2, p 3) 4 times, k 5.
  • 5. Row 5: K 8, p 2, (k 3, p 2) 4 times, k 5.
  • 6. Row 7: K 9, p 1, (k 4, p 1) 4 times, k 5.
  • 7. Row 9: K across.
  • 8. Pattern repeat ends with a Row 10.
  • 9. Rep Rows 1-10 four more times.
  • 10. Knit 8 more rows for 5 garter st ridges visible on RS.
  • 11. Bind off loosely.
  • 12. Weave in all ends using tapestry needle; block if desired.
