  • 2. cl: cluster-Yarn over, insert hook in indicated ch-space and draw up loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook; [yarn over, insert hook in same ch-space and draw up loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook] twice; yarn over and draw through all 4 loops on hook.

  • 3. Round 1 (RS): Ch 1, work 8 sc in ring; join with sl st in first sc-8 sc.
  • 4. Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in same sc as join, [ch 3, sk next sc, 2 dc in next sc] 3 times, ch 3, sk next sc; join with sl st in first dc (top of beginning ch)-8 dc and 4 ch-3 sps. Fasten off B.

Round 3: With RS facing and working behind ch-3 sp of Round 2, join A with sl st in any skipped sc of Round 1, ch 4 (counts as tr here and throughout), 2 tr in same sc as join (corner made), [sc in next 2 dc of Round 2, working behind next ch-3 sp of Round 2, 3 tr in next skipped sc of Round 1 (corner made)] 3 times, sc in next 2 dc of Round 2; join with sl st in first tr-12 tr and 8 sc. Fasten off B.
  • 3. Round 2: With RS facing, join C with sl st in center sc of any 3-sc corner, ch 2 (counts as hdc), (dc, hdc) in same sc, [hdc in each sc across to center sc of next 3-sc corner, (hdc, dc, hdc) in center sc of 3-sc corner] 3 times, hdc in each hdc to end of round; join with sl st in first hdc-464 sts.

Fasten off B. Using yarn needle, weave in all ends. Block lightly, if desired.
