Materials

  • Fabrics: lavender & rose print taffeta, 1/8 yd.; green floral home décor cotton, 1/4 yd.
  • Lime green satin ribbon, 7/8”, 1 yd.
  • Embroidery floss: lavender; rose
  • Lavender (or scented filler of choice)

Tools

  • Sewing thread
  • Sewing and embroidery needles
  • Straight pins
  • Funnel
  • Iron and pressing board
  • Optional: Sewing machine and matching thread

  • 6" Sachet
  • 1. Cut one rose, one lavender, and two green floral 3-1/2" fabric squares. Sew rose and lavender squares to green floral squares. Sew all squares together, placing green floral squares in opposite corners.
  • 2. Use three strands of lavender floss to feather stitch along seam lines.
  • 3. Cut 6-1/2" green floral square. Sew pieced square and green floral square together, leaving 2" opening for turning. Trim corners; turn right side out. Fill with lavender; hand sew opening closed.
  • 4" Sachets
  • 1. Cut two each of rose, lavender, and green floral 4-1/2" fabric squares. Sew same color squares together, leaving 2" opening for turning. Trim corners; turn right side out. Fill with lavender; hand sew opening closed.
  • 2. Stack lavender sachets on top of each other. Wrap ribbon around sachets and tie bow.
  • 4"x6" Sachet
  • 1. Cut one rose and one lavender 4-1/2"x6-1/2" fabric rectangles.
  • 2. Pin ribbon lengthwise across center of lavender rectangle. Use three strands of rose floss to feather stitch along ribbon edges.
  • 3. Sew rectangles together, leaving 2" opening for turning. Fill with lavender; hand sew opening closed.
  • Note
  • 1. Hand or machine sew, using 1/4" seam allowance, with right sides of fabrics together. Press fabrics as needed. To fill sachet, place funnel end in sachet opening. Slowly pour lavender through funnel until sachet is full.
