  • Autumn/Halloween-themed paper
  • Cardstock, in complementary colors

  • Gold wire, 28-gauge, 8” length
  • Wooden circles, two

  • Natural raffia

Tools

  • Circle punches: 1/8”, 1-1/4”, 2”
  • Small hand drill
  • Black ink pad
  • Adhesives: tape/dot runners, pop-up dots

Basic Supplies

scissors

Directions

STEP 1

  • Use CD as template to cut two circles from print paper. Adhere center area only onto back and front of CD. (Note: Leave edges unglued for now, so ribbon embellishments can be easily adhered to back sides of CD coverings.)

STEP 2

  • Punch two 2” circles from cardstock, then punch out 1-1/4” circle from center of each. Adhere circle “rings” together. Tie various ribbons onto ring as shown.

STEP 3

  • Apply “Happy Thanksgiving” rub-on transfer (or transfer of choice) onto one wooden circle. Apply “BOO!” rub-on transfer (or sentiment of choice) onto orange cardstock. Trim sentiment into tag shape; ink edges and attach brad onto top of tag.

STEP 4

  • Punch, cut, or stamp “Patch”’ onto copper-colored cardstock. Trim closely and mat onto dark green cardstock. Punch 1/8” hole in lower left side of cardstock. Attach small raffia bow to top right corner.

STEP 5

  • Adhere “Happy Halloween” ribbon at angle onto top of CD front, wrapping ends to back and securing in place using tape runners. Cut ribbon for hanger; adhere ends onto back of CD under paper circle. Adhere edges of front and back print circles onto CD.

STEP 6

  • Tie ribbon scraps onto leaf-shaped buttons; adhere onto CD front. Adhere quilled pumpkin onto remaining wooden circle; drill small hole through stem and wooden circle. Insert gold wire length through hole; wrap around stem to secure. Thread green beads onto wire. Poke wire end through cardstock on bottom of CD so pumpkin hangs below design.

STEP 7

  • Continue layering elements and other embellishments onto CD using pop-up dots. Let dry.

Tip

  • 1. Plan your design before adhering elements on a scratch piece of copy paper, so you can easily change the layout until you’re satisfied with the design.
