STEP 2

  • Tear tissue paper into small 1/8” shapes. Position tissue paper on bead and adhere to surface with découpage medium using paintbrush. Allow some of black background to show. Continue applying colored pieces of tissue paper on all beads. Use single color of tissue paper on round beads for contrast, if desired. Allow to dry thoroughly. Sand lightly and wipe with soft cloth.

Repeat pattern from center bead working from right for other side of necklace.

STEP 5

  • On left side, add crimp bead and split ring to end of beading wire. Thread wire back through crimp bead, catching jump ring. Thread wire through 3mm silver bead, crystal bicone, and round shell bead. Pull wire tight using needle-nose pliers and crimp bead using crimping tool. Cut off excess wire using wire cutters.

STEP 6

  • On right side, add crimp bead and split ring to end of beading wire. Thread wire back through crimp bead and catch split ring. Thread wire through 3mm silver bead, crystal bicone, and round shell bead. Pull wire tight using needle-nose pliers and crimp bead using crimping tool. Cut off excess wire using wire cutters. Thread lobster claw clasp onto split ring; fasten.

Tip

  • 1. Use smaller beads inside of the larger-holed beads to stabilize them on beading wire. Check to ensure that the stabilizer beads fit inside of the beads and are not visible in the finished design. Small bugle beads make excellent stabilizer beads.
