Directions

STEP 1

  • Who says you can’t have the house of your dreams? This charming house is literally right out of a fairy tale. Designer Tina Haller scored an old storybook, Une Porte Secrète (the secret door), at a flea market and transformed it into this lovely abode. She used hard covers and a glue gun to construct the house, and covered the house with papers from the book. Even the pretty paper banner and girl are right from the book.

STEP 2

  • She then embellished the house with twigs (perfect for covering seams), silk flowers, Spanish moss, ribbon and velvet trims. For added sparkle, Tina applied a little glitter here and there.

STEP 3

  • Check your local flea markets, used bookstores and eBay for house-worthy vintage books with nice illustrations.
