Garden Crate Centerpiece

Materials

  • Wooden divided box, 3-3/4”x7-3/4”x14”
  • Clay pots, 2-1/4” to 3-1/4” tall, six
  • Hand-held gardening tools, shovel and trowel
  • Gardening gloves
  • Floral Foam Bricks (FloraCraft), 2-5/8”x3-1/2”x7-7/8”
  • Naturals Floral Moss (FloraCraft), 2 oz. pkg.
  • Artificial grass
  • Patterned paper (Flair Design): Farmer’s Market

Tools

  • Color Tool Saffron Spray Color (Design Master)
  • Color Tool Walnut Wood Tone Glossy Spray (Design Master)
  • Primer (Design Master)
  • Paper Craft Glue Gel (Elmer’s)
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Old newspapers

Directions

STEP 1

  • Note: If reusing divided box for other seasons, do not glue foam and other items inside box.

STEP 2

  • Protect work surface with newspapers. In a wellventilated area, apply primer to tool handles. Let dry. Then spray paint handles Saffron. Let dry. Antique handles with Walnut wood tone. Let dry.

STEP 3

  • Trim one end of foam block and insert into middle compartment of wooden divided box. Hot glue foam inside box and artificial grass to foam block.

STEP 4

  • Cut second foam block in half and stand on end toward front of left compartment of box. Hot glue foam block in box. Glue moss to foam block.

STEP 5

  • Stack three clay pots and place into left compartment behind moss-covered foam block. Hot glue two clay pots on sides on tip of moss. Glue remaining clay pot on its side on top of stacked clay pots. Hot glue small amount of moss into two clay pots.

STEP 6

  • Cut 4”x12” rectangle from patterned paper, center and glue to front of box. Cut remaining images from patterned paper and place inside right compartment along with tools and gloves.
