Follow manufacturer’s instructions to condition clay. Use fingers to press and form heart-shaped shallow dish, leaving edge on heart for holding jewelry inside. If desired, use large heart-shaped cookie cutter instead, but make sure clay is thick enough to mold and shape edges. Let dish dry according to manufacturer’s instructions.
For rosebuds, roll out several very small coils and flatten with popsicle stick. Slowly roll flat lengths from one end to other. Small rolls will make little roses. Varying lengths and widths of flattened coils will create bouquet of different sized flower buds.
With remaining flattened lengths, use toothpick to cut little leaves and make marks for foliage veins. Mix up small amount of water and clay; brush liquid mixture on rose buds like “glue” and place into clay. Use toothpick to tuck buds into heart tray. (Note: This method will allow flowers and leaves to dry with tray as one piece. They will not fall off. You can also let the flowers dry on their own and hot glue them to the heart tray later.)
