Assembly

  • 1. Press squares lightly placing cloth between steam iron and squares.
  • 2. Sew squares together with length of yarn and yarn needle on wrong side of squares. Starting at lower edge, start with flower square, then lacy shell square, alternating in this pattern across scarf ending on opposite end with flower square. (Note: Make sure that when scarf is placed around neck, shells of lacy shell squares are all facing upright. Square #6 at back of neck (lacy shell square) can go in either direction.)

Edging

  • 1. Rnd 1: With Lace, join with sc in corner sc of either square making sure right side of work is facing you, 2 sc in same corner, sc evenly all the way around scarf having 3 sc in each of 3 remaining corners. Join with sl st to first sc.
  • 2. Rnd 2: * Sk 2 sc, (2 dc, trc, 2 dc) in next sc, sk 2 sc, sc in next sc, rep from * all the way around scarf adjusting stitches if necessary. Fasten off.
  • 3. Using craft or fabric glue, adhere beads securely to center of each flower. Let dry completely.

Tip

  • 1. Center-pull skeins of yarn can tangle easily towards the end. Balls of yarn are less likely to tangle.
