Materials

  • Pink ribbon, 6” length

  • Sewing needle and matching thread
  • Adhesives: Beacon Adhesives Fabri-Tac Permanent Adhesive, The Warm Co. Steam-A-Seam 2 Fusible Webbing

Directions

Note

  • 1. Rounds are worked in continuous spirals; do not join. Do not turn work at end of each round. Both yarns indicate two strands of Wisp and one strand of Cocoa.

Head

  • 1. With both yarns, ch 2.
  • 2. Round 1: 7 sc in second ch from hook. Mark first st for beg of rnd; move marker up each rnd.
  • 3. Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around (14)
  • 4. Round 3: *Sc in next 1 sc, work 2 sc in the next sc; rep from * (21)
  • 5. Round 4: *Sc in next 2 sc, work 2 sc in the next sc; rep from * (28)
  • 6. Rounds 5-8: Sc in each sc
  • 7. Round 9: *Sc in next 2 sc, sc2tog; rep from * (21)
  • 8. Round 10: *Sc in next sc, sc2tog; rep from * (14)
  • 9. Round 11: Sc in each sc. Insert eyes. Stuff with fiberfill.
  • 10. Round 12: Dec 1 in each sc rnd (7). Stuff with fiberfill, fasten off, and leave tail for sewing.

Body

  • 1. With both yarns, ch 2.
  • 2. Round 1: 6 sc in second ch from hook. Mark first st for beg of rnd; move marker up each rnd.
  • 3. Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around (12)
  • 4. Round 3: *Sc in next 1 sc, work 2 sc in the next sc; rep from * (18)
  • 5. Rounds 4-7: Sc in each sc
  • 6. Round 8: *Sc in the next sc, sc2tog; rep from * (12)
  • 7. Rounds 9-10: Sc in each sc. Stuff with fiberfill.
  • 8. Round 11: Dec 1 in each sc rnd. Fasten off and leave tail for sewing.

Arms (Make 2)

  • 1. With both yarns, ch 2.
  • 2. Round 1: 3 sc in second ch from hook. Mark first st for beg of rnd; move marker up each rnd.
  • 3. Round 2: Work 2 sc in each sc around (6)
  • 4. Rounds 3-5: Sc in each sc. Stuff with fiberfill, fasten off, and leave tail for sewing.

Legs (Make 2)

  • 1. With both yarns, ch 2.
  • 2. Round 1: 7 sc in second ch from hook. Mark first st for beg of rnd; move marker up each rnd.
  • 3. Rounds 2-6: Sc in each sc (7). Stuff with fiberfill, fasten off, and leave tail for sewing.

Ears (Make 2)

  • 1. With both yarns, ch 2.
  • 2. Round 1: 4 sc in second ch from hook. Mark first st for beg of rnd; move marker up each rnd.
  • 3. Round 2: 2 sc in each sc (8)
  • 4. Round 3: *Sc in next 1sc, work 2 sc in the next sc; rep from * (12)
  • 5. Round 4: Sc in each sc. Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing to head.

Finishing

  • 1. Use sewing needle to sew head to body, arms on either side of upper body, and legs on either side of lower body. Flatten ears and sew on top of head. Repeat all steps for other bear.
  • 2. Cut small Vanilla Latte muzzle and Shocking Pink heart (nose). Adhere nose on muzzle and muzzle on face. Use one strand of Black Brown floss to add details on face using backstitch. Knot and clip ends. Use Black Brown floss to add eyes onto face above muzzle. Knot ends. Repeat for other bear.
  • 3. Print out pattern. Trace dress onto fusible webbing; place adhesive side on wrong side of floral-print fabric and cut out. Remove backing paper; position on muslin and follow manufacturer’s instructions to fuse. Press on fold line. Cut 14” length of embroidery floss; position on fold. Use thin strip of fusible webbing to adhere floss onto fold. Use matching thread to sew gathering stitch around bottom edge of dress. Sew back edge of dress together; sew gathering stitch around top edge of dress. Use fusible webbing to adhere floral fabric scrap onto felt; cut out flower shape and adhere onto ear using fabric glue. Tie ribbon bow around other bear.
