Grandparents Day Frame

Materials

  • Wooden frame, 7”x9”
  • Midwest Products: Birch Plywood, Silver Mirror Styrene
  • Print paper, in design of choice
  • Royal Rub-On Transfers: Memory Sentiments
  • DecoArt Americana Acrylic Paints: Bleached Sand, Mint Julep Green

Tools

  • Ellison Sizzix Machine and Dies: Bigz Sassy Serif Alphabet (654722), Hearts (6549998)
  • Craft glue
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Paintbrush
  • Newspaper (to cover work surface)

Directions

STEP 1

  • On covered work surface, paint frame Bleached Sand. Let dry. Lightly paint edges of frame Mint Julep Green. Let dry.

STEP 2

  • Measure and cut 3/4”x4” strip and 1”x4” strip from print papers. Glue strips across top and bottom of frame.

STEP 3

  • Follow manufacturer’s instructions to use die-cut machine to cut large “G” and small letters from plywood sheet. Cut hearts from silver styrene sheet.

STEP 4

  • Paint alphabet letters Mint Julep Green. Let dry.

STEP 5

  • Glue alphabet letters onto frame. See photo for placement.

STEP 6

  • Follow manufacturer’s instructions to apply “grandpa” and “grandma” rub-on transfers onto frame.

STEP 7

  • Remove backing from silver stars. Glue stars on frame using photo as guide.

STEP 8

  • Insert photo into frame opening.
