Stamped Celtic Clay Necklace

Materials

  • Polyform Sculpey Polymer Clay: Silver
  • Celtic cross rubber stamp
  • Black inkpad
  • Clear beads, 30
  • String or cording, 30” length
  • Parchment-lined baking sheet

Tools

  • Old or promo credit card (for cutter)
  • Clay-dedicated rolling pin or wooden dowel
  • Oven
  • Scissors
  • Ruler
  • Toothpick

Directions

STEP 1

  • On clean work surface, remove clay from package. To condition, roll clay in hands until soft, bending and rolling until pliable. If clay cracks, keep conditioning.

STEP 2

  • Roll 2” Silver ball. Flatten ball to 1/4” thickness.

STEP 3

  • Press cross stamp evenly on black inkpad. Press stamp on flattened clay. Remove.

STEP 4

  • Use old credit card to trim around edges of cross. Use toothpick to poke hole on top of cross.

STEP 5

  • Position cross on parchment-lined baking sheet. Follow manufacturer’s instructions to bake cross in oven. Let cool completely.

STEP 6

  • Measure and cut 30” cording length. String 15 beads on cording, then cross, then remaining 15 beads. Knot ends together.

Tip

  • 1. Adults, help kids when baking clay in oven.
